Windscreens: What's Best for You?

A side-by-side breakdown of Aer-Flo's three windscreen options to help you pick the right fit for your facility.

Whether you're outfitting a baseball complex, tennis facility, or multi-sport venue, choosing the right windscreen matters more than most people think. It's not just about blocking wind — it's about durability, appearance, branding, and getting the most out of your investment.

Aer-Flo Sports offers three tiers of windscreen, each designed for different needs and budgets. Below, we'll walk through the Standard (VCP), Tuffy, and Tuffy Max so you can make the right call for your facility.

Which One Is Right for You?

The best windscreen depends on your facility's specific situation — budget, exposure to weather, how long you need it to last, and whether color matching to your brand matters.

Standard (VCP)

Best for seasonal use, temporary installations, or facilities working within a tighter budget. The 2-year warranty and lighter fabric make it a solid entry-level option when you need coverage without a premium price tag.

Tuffy®

The go-to for most facilities. Heavier fabric, nearly double the tensile strength of the Standard, a 5-year warranty, and 23 color options make it the most versatile pick. If you need to match school or team colors, this is likely your best bet.

Tuffy® Max

Built for high-wind areas and facilities that demand maximum durability. At 16 oz./sq.yd. and 84% shading, it's the toughest option in the lineup. Fewer color choices, but if longevity and strength are your priorities, this is it.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Tensile strength is the big differentiator between tiers. The Tuffy's tensile strength is roughly double that of the Standard, and the Tuffy Max pushes even further. If your facility is in a region that sees consistent wind, investing in a stronger fabric will save you replacement costs down the road.

Color selection matters more than people expect. Windscreens are one of the most visible elements of a sports facility. If branding is important to you, the Tuffy's 23-color palette gives you the best shot at an exact match. The Standard and Tuffy Max offer core colors that cover the most common needs.

Shading percentage affects visibility and wind reduction. Higher shading means more wind blockage and more privacy, but also less airflow. The range here (70%–84%) gives you options depending on what your facility needs most.
