The PRO-Tector® Full Infield Cover is designed to protect the entire infield skin — from foul line to foul line — against rain, standing water, frost, and UV degradation. Unlike spot covers that protect individual areas, a full infield cover keeps the complete playing surface game-ready regardless of weather.
It's the right choice when you need comprehensive protection: before a storm system moves through, during an extended offseason, or any time the full infield is at risk from moisture or freezing temperatures.
Full infield covers are large and heavy — proper deployment typically requires a crew of 8 to 20 people depending on the cover size and field conditions. A larger crew means faster deployment, which matters when a storm rolls in quickly.
Using a field cover roller significantly reduces the effort of both rolling and storing the cover between uses, and helps extend its lifespan. For tips on safe, efficient deployment, see our blog post on how to handle full infield tarps.
Sizing depends on your field's base path distance and the amount of overlap you want beyond the infield skin. As a general rule, size up — more overlap means better edge sealing and less risk of rain sheeting under the cover.
Common configurations fit 60', 70', 80', and 90' base path fields. If your field has non-standard dimensions or you're unsure which size is right, request a free quote and our team will help you measure and spec the right cover.
Securing the edges is critical. We recommend using field weights, sandbags, or ground stakes placed around the perimeter of the cover to hold it down. Space them closely on the windward side for maximum hold.
A tarp cart with field weights keeps everything organized and ready to deploy together — so when a storm approaches you're not hunting for weights across the equipment room.
Proper storage dramatically extends the life of your cover. Always allow the cover to dry fully before rolling — storing a wet cover leads to mold, mildew, and material breakdown over time.
Roll the cover tightly using a field cover roller, then store it in a storage cover to protect it from UV and dust between uses. Keep it off the ground and in a dry, covered location when not in season.
