The Police Athletic League of New York is New York City’s largest non-profit youth development organization. Backed by the NYPD, they offer after school programs, summer camps, college prep programs, and much more!
On Deck Sports helped the Police Athletic League of NYC install a Fully Retractable Sports Cage with #60 Knotted Netting. With their large turf space, they chose to install a 40’ L x 36’ W x 19’ H cage. To optimize their 4,260 sq.ft. space, they also installed 2 dividers to turn the batting cage into 3 lanes! With the cages being fully retractable, they can move them to the ceiling and have plenty of room for pitching and fielding drills.
Our facility experts helped them land on our top-of-the-line #60 netting, as On Deck Sports coat’s and dye’s each individual strand of netting while using UV inhibitors for extra durability.
To go along with the batting cage netting, the 4,260 sq.ft. space is equipped with our top of the line GT48 Padded Turf with 5mm foam. The GT48 Padded Artificial Turf is our most popular artificial turf option for indoor facilities. Weighing 48 oz with a ¾ ‘ H x 15’ W, this 5mm padded turf provides the softest feel while still holding up to heavy traffic. The turf even reacts like real grass!
